"Wake up"
I stirred from my sleep and looked around. The dim glow of the morning sun permeated through the curtains. I was on the floor.
"Wake up"
I stood up. My head began throbbing with an intense pain. I frantically searched for my pills. I found a couple on the dresser.
"You know very well those won't help you"
I looked to my left.
"Shut up, Xavier..." I struggled to get the pills to my mouth.
"Look at you. You're so weak." Xavier gave a little smirk. I quickly swallowed.
"Just shut up. You aren't helping" The pain in my head began to subside.
"You only say that because you know I'm right." A soft laugh escaped Xavier.
"You're a pathetic little child. A sniveling coward, that's what you are." He continued.
"Why must you taunt me?" I asked, lips quavering. "Why?"
"There you go again, acting like a child." His arrogant, defiant eyes penetrated me. "If I gave in to your every whim, nurtured you every second, you'd stay the weak little insect you are."
"Just shut up! Leave me alone." I clenched my fist.
"I'm right and you know it." The smirk ran away from Xavier's face and was promptly replaced with a frown. His gaze was unrelenting. Those cold eyes... He wanted to break me, but I wasn't going to let him. Tears began welling up in my eyes.
"Go away..." I breathed. My vision was becoming blurred and I felt myself succumbing to a daze. I swung my fist. Xavier gave a shocked look. There was the sound of broken glass, and he was gone. I fell to the floor, sobbing and cradling my bloody hand. |
